Description

Lord Buddha is seated in dhyana asana, the meditative pose also called padmasana. His hands are in the earth touching gesture also known as bhumisparsha mudra. The Buddha is always depicted with elongated earlobes, a vestige of his life as a prince, when he wore extravagant jewelry.

This beautiful Cambodian Buddha statue is carved out of padauk wood. It has a very unique reddish orange coloration, and the wood is sometimes referred to by the name vermillion.

This wood sculpture is a one of a kind statue, hand carved by the very talented artists of the beautiful country of Cambodia.
