A serene, golden, Ava period wooden Burmese Buddha statue seated in bhumisparsha mudra (calling earth to witness) on a double lotus throne. The Buddha's face is beautifully shaped and the eyes are are downcast, typical of Ava period Burmese Buddha statues. This piece is carved out of one solid piece of teakwood and it's crown is decorated with glistening glass mosaic. The finely modeled head radiates meditative inwardness. An exceptional collector's piece!

This wood sculpture is a one of a kind statue, hand carved by the very talented artists of Myanmar (Burma). Every piece is truly unique.
